Desert ADR was founded in February of 2005

by Hon. Robert G. Taylor, Ret., and Thomas A. Grossman, Esq., long-time Desert residents and fixtures in the legal community. Desert ADR was operated as a partnership until September, 2009, at which time, Thomas A. Grossman, Professional Law Corporation, took over the ownership and management of the business. The Dispute Resolution Professionals described below are independent contractors working with Desert ADR.

Judge Taylor retired as of February, 2005, after serving 13 years with the Riverside Superior Court. Judge Taylor has presided over trials and settlements in almost every kind of civil case including personal injury—from minor to profound injuries, wrongful death, medical malpractice, other professional negligence, insurance disputes, construction defect,real estate, business, and CEQA litigation, in addition to complex family law and probate matters.

Judge Taylor is past Presiding Judge of the Riverside Superior Court. He is past statewide Chair of the Fairness Education Committee of CJER (the judicial educational arm of the California Administrative Office of the Courts).

Mr. Grossman is an attorney and licensed real estate broker, with 28 years experience in civil litigation, real estate, personal injury, and business matters. Mr. Grossman has served as pro tem settlement judge and mediator for the Riverside Superior Court for over 15 years, handling a variety of civil cases including personal injury, real estate matters, business disputes, breach of contract, fraud and other matters.

Mr. Grossman has also arbitrated numerous fee disputes for the Desert Bar Association Fee Arbitration Program over the last 25 years and has completed additional mediation training at The Straus Institute (Pepperdine Law School) in Malibu, California.
